Due to current circumstances, BioME Student Showcase is going virtual! The Spring Networking Reception on April 15th is cancelled but the student competition is still on. We will share more details later this week. Application process and deadline stay the same (March 27).

Join us for our 2nd annual BioME Student Showcase followed by a Spring Networking Reception. This event will take place on April 15th from 2-5:30PM (Student Showcase) and 5:30-7PM (Spring Networking Reception) at Cloudport CoWorking MultiSpace in Portland, ME.

What’s BioME Student Showcase?
Come meet your future workforce at the BioME Student Showcase! Learn about Maine high school and college students’ bioscience research projects with a potential of commercialization. This fun and creative competition offers plenty of valuable networking with scientists, researchers, biotech professionals, academia and entrepreneurial resources’ representatives in Maine. Students will show off their passion for life science and present their research for a chance to win attractive cash and academic prizes.

A Spring Networking Reception will follow the Student Showcase this year. Come network with life sciences professionals and students in Maine over hors d’oeuvres.

Goal
The goal of this event is to support innovation and commercialization of student ideas in Maine and connect current students with potential future employers and entrepreneurial resources in the state.

Who should attend
Bioscience professionals, scientists, researchers, recruiters, colleges and academic institutions, high school and college students (both competitors and audience), teachers, mentors, parents, start up and entrepreneurial resource institutions, service institutions interested in biotech, economic development professionals, bioscience and education enthusiasts.

Competition info
BioME Student Showcase features TWO competition categories: (1) high school students (grades 9-12) and (2) college students(undergraduate and graduate). Students must be enrolled in Maine educational institutions to participate. Judges for the BioME Student Showcase include Maine scientists, entrepreneurs, academia and start-up/commercialization experts.

Additionally, we are proud to partner with The Biotechnology Institute to organize the local Maine BioGENEius Challenge at the BioME Student Showcase. The winner of Maine BioGENEius Challenge will represent Maine at the BioGENEius finals during BIO International Convention in San Diego in June!
