In this episode, we were excited to share our Why Maine video and project that we have been working on in collaboration with the speakers of this Coffee Hour series.

This virtual event featured Dr. Deborah Bronk (Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences), John Konsin (Prapela), and Dr. Toby Ahrens (FocusMaine) and was followed by a Q&A giving the audience a chance to connect with the speakers and each other.

This inspiring live webinar, Dr. Jenn Monti (MaineHealth), Dr. Janet Yancey-Wrona (Lonza), Dr. Meghan May (University of New England), Lauren Celano (Propel Careers), and Dr. Kristy Townsend (University of Maine, moderator) discussed their personal stories as Maine women in the industry, followed by a Q&A.

Watch the BioME webinar dedicated to “The Science of COVID-19” with Maine’s best epidemiologists, virologists, infectious disease & public health experts. The goal of this virtual event was to facilitate communication and collaboration among Maine’s bioscience community, and the general public, regarding the specificity of the virus and the disease it causes, research progress, testing, possible vaccines and treatment, epidemiology and virology in general, all from a scientific perspective.

In this informative live webinar, Dr. Norman Moore (Abbott), Dr. Edison Liu (Jackson Laboratory), Dr. Melissa Maginnis (University of Maine), Dr. Dora Anne Mills (MaineHealth), and Dr. Douglas Sawyer (MMCRI, moderator) address the science behind COVID-19, followed by a 30 minute Q&A.

Webinar Recording: Industry Exploration – Biotech Panel

Organized by Educate Maine in partnership with BioME. This industry exploration panel discussion focused on careers in biotech. Attendees heard from four panelists who have built their careers within Maine’s biotech industry. Attendees also had the chance to get their questions answered during a live Q&A.

This virtual event featured Katelyn Harroff (Abbott), Nicole Nguyen (Artel), Bram Bergeron-Smith (EnviroLogix), Casey Doucette, PhD (IDEXX), and Agnieszka Carpenter (BioME, moderator).

Watch clips from our second annual BioME Student Showcase. The format was a little different this year, but despite obvious difficulties, the Showcase was held virtually and proved to be a success. 10 college students and 16 high school students were selected to virtually present their original life sciences-related research to a panel of judges in competition for cash and academic prizes.
