Meet the 4 Maine middle schoolers who won the BioME summer science camp scholarships

These future scientists will have an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with like-minded peers and an enthusiastic and dedicated staff who share their passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Due to the current health crisis, the Maine School for Science and Mathematics Science Summer Camps have been cancelled this season. All 2020 BioME scholarship recipients will have the option to attend this camp in the summer of 2021.

We are happy to announce that BioME is funding 4 scholarships in the form of 1-week-long summer science camps at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Limestone, ME. All 4 awardees attend schools that participated in ME Bioscience Day 2019.

ME Bioscience Day is a state-wide event where Maine scientists visit local middle schools to talk with students about their career and the opportunities that are available in science based careers. The next ME Bioscience Day will take place in November 2020.

The Maine School of Science and Mathematics Summer Science Camp program provides an opportunity for campers to exchange ideas and discover new and exciting opportunities as they delve deeper into these subjects, which ignite a desire to pursue careers in these fields. MSSM inspires young minds to pursue their favorite subjects through innovative and interactive classes and outdoor activities.
